Who We Are:
New York City is more than just buildings and boroughs — it’s the working people who make it the greatest city in the world. From early morning bakers to late-night nurses, from small business owners to subway conductors, it’s everyday New Yorkers who keep this city running.
Empower NYC was created by and for those New Yorkers — people who believe our city’s future depends on steady, proven leadership that puts working families, public safety, and shared prosperity first. We are an independent organization committed to making sure their voices are heard — not drowned out by politics as usual.
Empower NYC is an independent expenditure committee (IE) organized under New York law. Under the City’s public matching system, mayoral campaigns that opt in face strict limits on contributions and spending. That’s why independent efforts like ours have become a vital part of citywide elections.
While we do not coordinate with any candidate or campaign — as required by law — we are fully permitted to support the election of a candidate and advocate for their success.
We have declared our intention to support Mayor Eric Adams for re-election. From public safety to housing to opportunity, he’s shown up, taken action, and delivered results for the communities that need it most.
We’re here to make sure that work continues — and that the truth is told about what’s at stake, what’s been achieved, and what’s still ahead.
Why We're Here
The challenges facing New York City are real — affordability, public safety, economic recovery — and so are the stakes. Empower NYC exists to make sure the progress we’ve made isn’t reversed.
Since taking office, Mayor Adams has prioritized:
- Restoring public safety while investing in community programs
- Creating thousands of units of affordable housing
- Supporting small businesses across all five boroughs
- Delivering results for working-class and immigrant communities
We believe that independent voices — voices like yours — play a vital role in ensuring this progress continues. That’s why Empower NYC was founded: to stand up for New Yorkers who want real solutions, not political posturing.
Before You Contribute
Empower NYC is an independent expenditure committee registered with the New York City Campaign Finance Board. We are not affiliated with any candidate, campaign, or political party, and we do not coordinate with any candidate or their committee.
Contribution Guidelines & Compliance Notice:
Per New York City Campaign Finance Board rules, any donor who contributes $5,000 or more to Empower NYC for independent expenditures will be publicly disclosed.
There are no contribution limits. Individuals, corporations, LLCs, LPs, and other entities may contribute, and those “doing business” with New York City are not prohibited from doing so.
All contributions are voluntary, not tax-deductible, and publicly disclosed under city law.
